· Chapter 1: Environmental Laws, Regulations and Rules What you will learn - federal and state environmental laws, regulations, and rules and the promulgation process, policy/procedural guidance, and locations of the most significant laws, regulations and rules within 40 CFR, Indiana Code and Indiana Administrative Code. · Chapter 2: Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) What you will learn – hazarous waste identification and management, generator knowledge, special regulatory conventions, hazardous waste recycling, and hazardous waste generator requirements · Chapter 3: Storage Tanks What you will learn - regulations concerning underground storage tanks, aboveground storage tanks, hazardous waste storage tanks and Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasure (SPCC) Plans · Chapter 4: Spill Remediation (Cleanup) What you will learn – spill reporting, liability, CERCLA, Indiana State Cleanup Program, Voluntary Remediation Program, regulations surrounding LUST’s and RISC · Chapter 5: Air Regulations What you will learn – federal Clean Air Act, air quality standards, construction permit, operating permit, Title V, FESOP, potential to emit, open burning and fugitive dust · Chapter 6: Drinking Water What you will learn – permits, new well construction requirements, capacity development, construction permit and application review, certified operator requirements, Public Right-to-Know provisions, operational considerations, wellhead protection, public water system, bioterrerism and security and well abandonment · Chapter 7: Wastewater What you will learn – industrial NPDES permits, general NPDES permits and permit applicability, types and functions · Chapter 8: Solid Waste What you will learn – definitions, waste types, generator requirements and exculsions · Chapter 9: Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act (SARA Title III) What you will learn – responsible agencies, emergency planning, emergency release notification, hazardous chemical inventory and toxic release inventory · Chapter 10: Compliance and Technical Assistance Program What you will learn – mission, services and statutory requirements · Chapter 11: Pollution Prevention What you will learn – importance of pollution prevention, assistance, resources and pollution prevention plan · Chapter 12: Environmental Compliance Exercise Put your knowledge to the test in this class exercise where you will apply your environmental training to a fictional manufacturing organization. |
